Specialized certification institutions inspect and certify eco-friendly agricultural products based on the strict standard. The government can protect consumers from any food harms and make sure of food safety and quality through this certification system.
What Environmentally-Friendly Agricultural Products are
“Eco-friendly Agricultural Products” means either not using or minimizing the use of synthetic pesticides, chemical fertilizers, antibiotics, bacteriacides and other chemical materials, and through the recycling of the byproducts of farming, animal husbandry, and forestry, the farming ecosystem and the environment is maintained and preserved when producing agricultural products(including livestock products).
Types of Eco-friendly Agricultural Products
- Organic Agricultural Products
- Agricultural products that have been cultivated without the use of organosynthetic agricultural pesticides or chemical fertilizers.
- Pesticide-free Agricultural Products
- Agricultural products that have been cultivated without the use of organosynthetic agricultural pesticides and on less than 1/3 of the recommended amount of applied fertilizer consisting of chemical fertilizer
- Organic Livestock Products
- Livestock products that have been raised on organic feed without the use of antibiotics, synthetic antimicrobials, or hormones.
- Antibiotic-free Livestock Products
- Livestock products that have been raised on antibiotic-free feed without the use of antibiotics, synthetic antimicrobials, or hormones.
- Handler Certified Products
- Products whose packing unit has been altered or those that have gone through basic packaging process.
- Organic Processed Food
- Processed food products that organic ingredient takes more than 95% of all ingredient excluding water and salt and produced through organic processes.
- Organic Processed Products not intended for Human Consumption
- Non-edible Products that processed, produced or manufactured using organic agricultural ingredient or materials for being used by human.
